Hello Pop,
MNI TNX for all your work on the new OZ2JFV antennas! Yes, it certainly will be
great to have another big steerable 6m four yagi EME array in Europe! I am very
encouraged by the significant increase in interest for 6m EME, and am very happy
to see more 6m arrays being constructed with full elevation, since that means more
stations that can take advantage of contacts with other horizon-only stations
around the world. I now count up over 30 6m stations around the world with fully
steerable 6m EME arrays working or under construction...and of course there are
hundreds more who are capable of 6m EME on the horizon only.
I looked at the 7 element 6m beam you designed for the array at OZ2JFV, and
compared it to your already very good 7 element design at
http://www.yu7ef.com/ef0607.htm
Can you explain if there is any reason why people should not build this new one
instead of the old EF0607? It appears that they are basically the same in
performance, even if you are only interested in putting up one yagi. Wouldn't it
make sense to simply replace the old EF0607 with this new design so the antenna
will still provide optimum performance, even if the antennas are stacked in an array?
Thanks again for all your good work with the high performance direct feed 50 ohm
antenna designs! You are doing much to encourage weak signal work on the VHF bands.
