Yeah, they're not the greatest about updating their web page.
From a posting on the VHFContesting Reflector on the 25th from Gerry,
W1VE / VE1RM / 6Y6C...
"WA1ZMS had exactly ONE QSO in the January contest. He probably will
not win. Yet, he made a 114km QSO on 241GHz, a new world record. Now
-- the gear for the band is incredibly rare, expensive and bleeding
edge... Should we complain about his pushing the envelope?"
So that's the latest record from "Dr. Millimeter-Wave"... 114Km on 241 GHz.
(The comment was related to the ongoing/never-ending rules debate over
there about VHF rules and now the recent changes. People just need to
learn to go out and have fun... like you do, Jonsey!)
I keep meaning to ask Brian if he'd ever consider coming out here with
his 200+ GHz gear and we'll take him up Pikes Peak, and aim him at
someone in Kansas... How many Km is Pikes to Sunflower? I've never
looked that one up on a map.
(GRIN) :-)
He'd set some records no one would ever beat if we could get him out here.
Getting his microwave gear through airport security would certainly be
interesting, both from a "What the HELL is THAT stuff?" standpoint and
also from a "Oh crap, they broke it" one, too... probably.
Sure would be fun to plunk Dr. Millimeter-wave down on a 14'er and let
him play, though -- wouldn't it? (BIG HUGE GRIN)
