Just for another "me-too" the FT-847's power switch is also known to be 
problematic, and I've taken to switching it whenever I can (and I don't 
forget) externally also.  It feels "loose" already, and it's a much 
newer radio than Larry's museum-quality rig there.  (GRIN)
