I finally got around to transcribing my hand written log from the July
CQ WW VHF contest and submitting it to the robot. For those of you who
worked the contest, but haven't submitted a log, the deadline is
tomorrow. Pressure Precipitates Performance. :^)= It still takes me a
couple of tries with the robot to take my Cabrillo formatted log as I
want it. The robot doesn't like the format CQ suggests on their web
page for the CQ-VHF contest. It apparently has not been updated since
they changed the Cabrillo format. This is only the second time I have
used Roverlog and I like it, but I haven't figured out how to get it
to generate headers in the new format.
Here are my results.
Grid QSOs
DM87 9
DM88 4
DM89 21
DM99 0
DM76 13
DM77 22

RoverLog Score Summary, Using old rover rules:

Claimed Score: 5704
As I posted previously, I am happy with this effort. I operated in
motion nearly the whole time, except when we were stopped for the
night at Limon, CO. I was a bit disappointed with my effort on 2M,
however, but I guess the activity just wasn't there. I was also
disappointed not to work anyone from DM99. It is the first time I have
ever not worked someone from a grid when I was roving. I guess I have
been lucky. It is pretty easy to see from which grids I had good
sporadic E.
I used the IC-551D on 6M with 75 Watts to a halo up 12 ft and a
TR-9130 to a 120 W linear to a 3 element Yagi for 2M. Thanks to all
who worked me, especially W3DHJ, whom I worked from 4 grids while he
was in 2 grids on 2 bands. No grid circling for us, but it does go to
show how working other rovers from multiple grids and bands really
leverages one's score. I have posted the details of the trip earlier.
Thanks to everyone who worked me! - Duffey
