Hi Gang,

Had a good time in the 14er Event this past Sunday. I got on around 9 AM
local and worked 9 of the 14er's before noon. Was glad to see the turnout
for the Event. I used 6M SSB, 2M and 70 cm FM. I made a few call on 223.5 MHz
FM but heard nothing.
I was hoping to work at least 10 of the 14er's for my third 14er Event
certificate/award but my last dyeing hope faded as the station on Mt. Sherman
became illusive. Also, I was advised that there was a station on Mt. Elbert
but never heard them. Well, close but no cigar! I guess "close" only counts in
horseshoes, hand grenades and nuclear weapons.
I'd like to thank the stations that braved the cold, fog and (in some
cases) snow to make the event a success;
    K0NR - Pikes Peak
    WE7C - Mt. Evens
    W0IIN - Mt. Bross
    N0XDW - Mt. Democrat
    KE0VH - Mt. Lincoln
    K0CAO - Mt. Columbia
    N8YY - Mt. Bierstadt
    KC0YIH - Quandary Peak
    KD0EGE - Gray's Peak

CU 73, Dave...

P.S. The event did allow me to ascertain that the Sinclair 9DB 2M gain
vertical I have at 150 feet has either a feedline, harness or structural problem -
horrible VSWR. Won't that be fun to change out?
