I won't say anything else other than to check out the rules about 
spotting networks... only certain classes can use them.

W3ZZ did a "VHF Contesting Ethics" column in QST recently (this month or 
last) -- that's an interesting read.

Just about everyone seriously active out here breaks at least three or 
four of his "ethical" rules out here all the time.

Personally, I don't even agree with some of them he discussed.  And I'll 
always put being a courteous ham ahead of contest rules...

(I respect Gene and his group's accomplishments, but that doesn't mean I 
can't respectfully disagree with things in his articles in the magazine.)

For example:  If a new microwave operator shows up, I'm going to figure 
out a way to help them.  If that means I announced his/her position to 
someone else (spotted them) to help them get a contact on that new 
microwave gear, and get a good feeling that setting up a new band was 
worth it -- and someone wants my score DQ'ed -- fine.  Take it.

You're right, it would be nice, but it's not possible under the current 
contest rules.
