[RMVHF] 432 Sprint...

Well I didn't work the sprint too hard myself. I have a cold this week
and my voice is pretty bad. I did manage 7 Q's and 3 grids. Not bad
for an hour from the house. I could hear DM78 in the noise but the
ridge to the south just wasn't going to let me make the contact. Didn't
hear him off Pike's like I expected but direct at about 160 degrees.
Didn't hear Larry but no surprise there and too bad I missed Duane as he
is always strong here. Phil was real easy to copy too. When I heard
him his CW was stronger than the beacon.
TS2000X, 18 elements & 150W was what I was using...
Cheers J sends

I hrd N9KC/R on SSB but could not get his attention. I worked you, POH
and SWV. I could hear some weak SSB and cW at time but no calls copied.
Got the 736R going on CW but don't understand the problem?

Phil,
Don't know what these keying problems can be as I never had any sort
of problems with my (now Wayne's) 736. Save, for the blown 1296 power
module that I replaced. That was my fault as I was tuning up a power amp
(7289) without an isolator/circulator in line and the amp backfired. I
know better just didn't do it.
The Sprint went well, I thought. I had 20 Q's in 6 grids. Finally
did manage to work Larry - NØLL. He told me he was having a PA problem.
I first worked him on CW and then he came up on SSB, that was when Duane
- WA7KYM worked him. Didn't hear a peep out of NM, OK or TX.
Everything worked great here, held together and performed as it was
supposed to, hi!
